Epoxy Resin KER 828 (CAS 25068-38-6) from KCC Corporation is a liquid bisphenol A‑based resin with a medium viscosity of 12 000‑15 000 mPa·s, molecular weight 184‑190 g/mol and purity of at least 99.5 %. The colour meets ≤ 100 APHA standards and water content is limited to 500 ppm. These specifications provide excellent adhesion to concrete, steel and FR‑FRP composites, as well as high chemical and thermal resistance, making the resin ideal for poured epoxy flooring, anti‑corrosion coatings, construction adhesives and composite laminates. When cured with amine or polyester hardeners, KER 828 forms a highly cross‑linked network that delivers tensile strengths above 3 000 kPa and retains resistance to solvents such as acetone, toluene and alkaline solutions. Incorporation of fillers—silica gel, aluminum oxide, or hollow microspheres—allows tailoring of modulus, thermal conductivity and dielectric properties, which is valuable in electrical insulation panels and semiconductor equipment. To reduce viscosity for self‑levelling applications, reactive diluents or plasticizers can be added, bringing the viscosity down to roughly 8 000 mPa·s without compromising substrate adhesion. Standard practice includes degassing the mixed resin at 40 °C for 30 minutes, especially in confined spaces, to eliminate entrapped air bubbles. At 25 °C the cure schedule reaches 70 % of ultimate strength after 8 hours and full strength after 24 hours; raising the temperature to 60 °C accelerates the reaction to about 2 hours, which is useful for rapid repair work. Storage recommendations are a dry, cool environment at 15‑25 °C, protected from direct sunlight and moisture. For preparation, mix the hardener at a 1 : 2 weight ratio; when faster cure is required, 0.5‑1 % of a tri‑ethyl‑amine‑based catalyst may be introduced. The resin’s chemistry and versatility make it a preferred choice in industrial flooring, marine structures, aerospace composite parts, and high‑performance adhesives.

KER 828 epoxy resin should be stored in a dry, well‑ventilated area at temperatures between +15 °C and +30 °C, protected from direct sunlight and heat sources. The material retains its performance provided the container (drum or bottle) remains intact and tightly sealed. Typical shelf life is up to 12 months when stored under these conditions. During handling wear chemical‑resistant gloves, safety goggles and protective clothing, avoid skin contact and inhalation of vapors, and ensure local ventilation if needed.
