Calcined Kaolin Optimal-02 is a finely dispersed calcined kaolin of our own production. The whiteness of the kaolin is ≥87%, the average particle diameter D50: 2–4 μm, moisture ≤ 0.5%, pH (10%) 6.0–7.5, bulk density 0.5–0.7 g/cm³. Calcination removes part of the hydrated alumina layers, increasing crystal stability and giving the filler a higher thermal resistance, which is valuable in high‑temperature coating systems. The fine particle size creates a high specific surface area that promotes good wetting by resin binders and improves the rheology of pigment dispersions, reducing pigment settling and enhancing thixotropic behavior. In paint formulations kaolin Optimal‑02 is frequently paired with titanium‑dioxide pigments or dispersed polysiloxanes; this combination boosts opacity, UV‑stability and provides a smoother film surface. When incorporated at 5–15 wt % into acrylic or epoxy bases, the filler raises the elastic modulus, lowers shrinkage, and improves adhesion to metal or concrete substrates. In plastics, the kaolin acts as a nucleating agent for polypropylene and polystyrene, leading to a more uniform crystalline morphology and higher impact resistance. Compatibility with phenolic antioxidants further enhances resistance to thermal ageing. In rubber compounding the material can be used alongside sulfur vulcanizing agents, where it serves as a vulcanization accelerator, shortening cure times and promoting a more efficient cross‑link network. For paper production, the filler increases brightness and reduces optical density, making it especially useful for high‑contrast printing applications. In construction materials such as gypsum board or cement mortars, the kaolin improves workability, reduces the risk of cracking during drying, and helps to distribute moisture evenly throughout the mix. Handling recommendations include storing the product in a dry, sealed container, avoiding exposure to humidity, and using dry mixing equipment to achieve a uniform dispersion. During dosing, the bulk density of the filler and the target mechanical properties of the final product should be considered; it is customary to introduce the kaolin gradually into the dry phase of the formulation and then blend thoroughly to obtain a homogenous mixture.

Storage and handling

To maintain the quality of Calcined Kaolin Optimal-02, store the material in a dry, well‑ventilated area at ambient temperatures (approximately 15 °C–25 °C) away from direct sunlight and sudden temperature fluctuations. The product remains usable for typically 12–24 months provided the packaging remains intact. During handling, wear protective gloves and safety glasses, avoid exposure to moisture and aggressive chemicals, and ensure containers are tightly sealed to prevent water uptake.
