As a soil conditioner in agriculture, lignosulfonate promotes aggregation of soil particles, improves water retention, and can act as a carrier for micronutrients, thereby supporting crop yield. In dye synthesis it serves as a binding agent, enhancing pigment adhesion to fabrics and stabilising emulsions during processing.
