Cure Accelerator

The cure accelerator from Global Optimals consists of tertiary amines and imidazoles designed for epoxy systems with anhydride hardeners. These organic bases act as nucleophilic catalysts, reacting with the anhydride groups to form highly reactive carboxylate and amide intermediates that dramatically speed up the epoxy‑anhydride cross‑linking reaction. By lowering the initial viscosity of the resin, they promote rapid network formation and enable full cure at reduced temperatures. Applied at 0.5–3 h per 100 cm³ of resin, it reduces gel time to as low as 30 minutes and lowers the curing temperature by 10–15 °C, accelerating production of composite parts, casting and winding. Such performance is especially valuable in aerospace composite lay‑up, where fast gelation allows rapid tooling turnover, in automotive structural components to shorten line cycle times, and in electrical insulation applications such as printed circuit board laminates where high adhesion and dimensional stability are required. The product meets international quality standards and is supplied with full technical data sheets (TDS), safety data sheets (SDS) and certificates of analysis (COA). Brand components from KCC, Kukdo, Evonik and BASF ensure reliable reactivity and compatibility with a wide range of epoxy resins and anhydride hardeners. For storage, keep the sealed containers in a dry, well‑ventilated area at 15–25 °C, protected from direct sunlight and moisture. Under these conditions the accelerator retains its performance for at least 24 months. In practice, low‑speed mixing is recommended to avoid excessive air incorporation, and a small‑scale trial batch should be performed to fine‑tune the dosage based on resin viscosity and the desired final mechanical properties. Proper mixing and temperature control prevent localized overheating, which is critical when curing thick composite sections or large‑volume castings.

Storage and handling

Store the cure accelerator in a dry, well‑ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep the container tightly sealed to prevent moisture ingress and contamination. Maintain ambient temperatures typically between +5 °C and +25 °C unless otherwise specified in the data sheet. When packaging integrity is maintained, the product’s shelf life is generally 12–24 months. During handling wear protective gloves and goggles, and avoid skin contact and inhalation of vapors.
